Welcome to the blog all about Lady Penelope!
She is a British short hair who has been in our house for about six weeks, and every day so far has been just a little bit more about Penelope and a little bit less about everyone.
Meet Lady Penelope or Pelp for short. In the photo above she is just a little kitten, this was about three days after we got her, she still hadn't warmed up to us much, however my college essay was a different story. I was editing a critial essay for my midterm, and thought it would be nice to give her some company so i went up stairs early in the morning.
The first ten minutes was her sitting at the other end of the couch Trying to figure out if I was going to attack her. But then as the papers flicked back and forth she sprang to life and the Battle of Shakespeare was on.
For every page That I edited there were several attempts to swipe my pen and multiple teeth marks in my paper after one hour that morning I had managed to bound with this little fur ball.
The rainbow worm in the back played a crucial roll in getting Pelp to even adjust to us, before we brought her home we bought about $100 in toys only to have her ignore all but this three dollar worm, which still a month and a half later, although missing an eyeball is her favorite of all toys.
One thing that is truely amazing about British short hair's is that they have some of the most beautiful eyes in the world. As kittens they are born blue and remain that way until they are a few weeks old when they gradually start to change to orange. It still takes a few years for the orange color to become permanent however.
